Founded in 1875, the Institut Catholique de Lille (ICL) is known for its interactive educational methods and its innovation. Students are placed at the heart of all projects to become actors of their own studies.

The ICL pays a lot of attention to welcoming international students who study in a user-friendly, sustainable campus where everyone can find their place. The educational project of ICL encourages every student to get involved in the community and become an enlightened citizen, wide open to the world, an ethical and responsible actor, aware of changes around them.

The international dimension as a window on cultural diversity and European citizenship is part of the educational project of ICL. Priorities are: a strong emphasis on foreign languages, internationalized study programs, a variety of joint and double degrees and welcoming “visiting professors”.

 

PROGRAMS:

ICL is a multidisciplinary institution that delivers, under supervision of the education authorities or in agreement with state universities, a diversity of degree courses from which international exchange students can create their own programs:

  • Law, Economics, Business, Management: international law; European law, political sciences, corporate law, public and private law, criminal law, human rights law, social legislation; human resources, economics, business administration, finance, management, business management, auditing, accounting, prep classes for business schools, innovation management…
  • Arts, Humanities, Theology, Ethics; Education: literature, languages, arts; culture, history, geography, psychology, media; communication, education, journalism, canon law, ancient languages, religious sciences,…
  • Health and Social Care: medical and midwifery school, nursing, nursery nursing, chiropratic, podiatry, …
  • Innovation and Design Thinking
  • Science and Technologies: science, physics, chemistry, environment, sustainable development, computer science, electronics and digital technologies, textiles, 2D and 3D design, ecology, …
  • Political Science and International Relations: international security policy, Food politics, European politics,

LOCATION:

At the crossroads of Europe, Lille is located less than 2 hours by train from several main European capitals: Brussels, Paris, London, Amsterdam, etc.

Lille, a city of art and culture, is also the 2nd largest French university center.  The Lille metropolis is young and lively: 43% of the population is under 30 years old.  The campus of the Institut Catholique de Lille, known as one of the most beautiful in France, is located in a quiet and green district, in the center of the city.
