French-German Gender Equality Prize in Azerbaijan – Call for applications until 20th April 2021

The French and German Embassy in Azerbaijan are jointly launching the first French-German Gender Equality Prize. This Prize aims at rewarding an Azerbaijani initiative that contributes to gender equality in Azerbaijan. Please submit your application by 20^th April 2021.

Presentation of the Prize

The French and German Embassy in  Azerbaijan join together to offer the 1^st French-German Gender Equality Prize of Azerbaijan. France and Germany actively seek to promote equal rights and equal opportunities for girls and women in Azerbaijan. .

Who can participate?

All Azerbaijani girls and women who are engaged in a concrete initiative in favour of gender equality in one of the following fields are welcome to send their application:

- Promotion of women leadership in politics or business
-Promotion of creative women in art and culture

-Promotion of the role of women in conflict resolution and peace-building process

- Fight against Gender-based violence
- Questioning Gender-based stereotypes

Terms of participation

The French and German Embassy will short-list the five best projects and the five finalist applicants will be reviewed by a jury composed of seven persons representing France, Germany and Azerbaijan. These five candidates will be invited to introduce their initiative in English in front of the jury and answer its questions. The jury will then select the final winner. The contest laureate will be rewarded by the French Embassy with a one month studying visit to France to take part in a leading educational training program in the field of human rights (Summer School at Sciences-Po-Paris Campus), as well with as a similar prize in Germany  awarded by the German Embassy (to be confirmed).
