Alumni on a visit to discover the Maison de la radio et de la musique
On Monday 31 May, France Alumni organised a guided tour of the Maison de la radio et de la musique for alumni.
In Paris, everybody knows the Maison de la radio (House of the radio and music), easily recognised with its round and massive shape, located close to the Seine river and the Eiffel Tower, in the 16th “arrondissement”
The building was designed by architect Henry Bernard and was opened in 1963 to house the French radio-television. The building spans over 100,000 m2 and includes 63 studios and 1,000 offices.
A group of about 20 alumni had the opportunity to join a guided tour
in this building to discover more about its history, architecture and acoustics.
The group of alumni discovered the backstages of this building, and visited the Studio 104, the historical and iconic location used for all major public events of the Radio France channels.
The visit ended with a last stop at the 22nd floor of the tower at the centre of Maison de la radio, with a beautiful view on Paris.
More cultural events will be organised throughout the year. To discover the events to come, remember to check our agenda!
