Covid-19 pandemic.

They came from all over the world to study in France this year. For the past month, their lives have been turned upside-down by the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Life under quarantine for these six international students revolves around online classes, remote leisure activities and discovering new hobbies. Conversations with their families to share words of comfort and talk about their experiences are more frequent and regular. Sports, meditation or keeping a diary help them to take care of themselves physically and mentally.

Life hasn't stopped for these students. They are using the time to concentrate on their projects and keep looking for internships, and they're hoping that these exceptional circumstances will be taken into account for the completion of their studies. They also want to remind students back home who want to join them here next year that Campus France offices are available to provide information and advice, and to help them make preparations.

Here are the experiences these students shared with Campus France, and their tips on how to have the best possible experience during quarantine.

"I continue writing in my diary. It helps me keep things in perspective and stay optimistic. - Tamara KLINK, Brazilian student"

I’m trying not to drop any of my activities. Right now I'm looking for an internship. - Gonzalo DUARTE, Colombian student

I was lucky enough to find a new hobby, cooking, and I share recipes with students of other nationalities. - Ignacio RODRIGUEZ, Spanish student

I spend more time talking with my family and friends, to share our experiences during quarantine. - Rowaida MOSHRIF, Egyptian student

I'm using this time to reconnect with myself. I can meditate or practice yoga every day. - Editha NURIDA, Indonesian student

My advice: use this time to work on your project, so once quarantine is over you'll be ready.- Lawrence LUYIMA, Ugandan student
