2019, the French-Polish scientific year

In the wake of WW1, 100 years ago, France and Poland create a strong diplomatic relationship. To celebrate the date, the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Research from both countries just announced that 2019 would be a French-Polish scientific year.

There are many and ancient relationships between France and Poland: major public figures such as Marie Curie in science or Frédéric Chopin in music are both of Polish origin. In this context of close political, economic and cultural bonds, the 1st forum French-Polish of rectors and presidents of universities will be held next month in Paris.

This forum, as announced by the French Ministry or Higher Education, Research and Innovation will officially the scientific year, a year full of events currently under a call for intention on the website of both embassies.

All French and Polish stakeholders from the higher education and research industry are invited to participate in the events, dealing among others with the strategic project Horizon 2020, a research and innovation program from the European Union promoting scientific excellence in Europe.

The French-Polish scientific year should develop experience and know-how exchange in research, but also scientific and technologic cooperation with players in the industry sector. To deal with this, the mobility of researchers between French and Polish scientific institutions should be encouraged.
