What is the ALFRED® software?

To facilitate the mobility of foreign researchers to France and keep in touch after they leave, the FnAK has created the ALFRED© (ALumni and Foreign REsearchers Directory) database in 1994 to support them as early as the preparation of their stay. The ALFRED© software is now used by about a hundred users to support researchers on a daily basis.

ALFRED® is:

• 130.000 researchers registered;
• Contact through EURAXESS Centres, with 25.956 consultations and 44.109 services provided to 14.183 people in 2021;

With the ALFRED© interface, you can:

• Create a personal space to communicate with other researchers and EURAXESS centre depending on your desire and needs;
• Support to find accommodation: contacts with landlords, residences, etc.;
• Support for your stay processes: visa, residence permit, work authorisation, etc.;
• Help in cultural integration: classes of French as a foreign language, cultural activities, city tours, region tours, etc.;
• Bridges with research entities to facilitate your recruitment and build an international network;
