France Alumni China launches “My thesis in 3 minutes”, a new project to showcase the quality of doctoral studies in France and the success of Chinese doctoral alumni.
The project is highly inspired from the “My thesis in 180 seconds” contest: Chinese doctoral students or graduates who passed their degree in France present (in French) their research subjects in simple terms to a non-expert and diverse audience.
After a preselection organised by the French embassy in China, 5 doctoral students or graduates[1] will be invited in Beijing to the finale planned in late May 2021. During the finale, each candidate will have three minutes to present a clear, short and convincing presentation of her/his research project to a jury and audience[2]. Two major prizes are awarded: the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize. A prize will also be awarded to 3 other finalists.
The objective of this project proposed by Campus France China and France Alumni China is to demonstrate to the general public the quality of doctoral studies in France and the success of Chinese doctoral alumni.
The “My thesis in 3 minutes” contest is open to Chinese doctoral students who speak French and who are enrolled or have been enrolled in a doctoral programme, attached to a French university, between 2010 and 2020.
