Launch of France Alumni Finland
France Alumni Finlande
The French Institute launched the France Alumni Finland platform on December 13, 2016 during a party organised by the French embassy with high profile Finnish personalities.
The embassy has opened its doors to about a hundred guests selected in order to represent the different categories of former students and their associations. A class of "Terminales" (final year of secondary school) from the Franco-Finnish secondary school, which will celebrate its 70th anniversary this year, was also invited to inform the soon-to-be baccalauréat holders to the opportunities to study in France.
Four alumni, which career is marked by complete success in their respective fields, then spoke in flawless French. Alexander Stubb - Member of Parliament and former Prime Minister of Finland (Panthéon-Sorbonne University) spoke first, followed by Tytti Yli-Viikari - President of the Court of Audits (former auditor from the ENA and Panthéon-Sorbonne University), Kai Kartio - Director of the Amos Andersen museum (Fine Arts of Avignon), Tiina Nieminen - Researcher at LUKE, Natural Resources Institute Finland (University of Nancy).
The warm and lively stories all conveyed a strong positive message on the benefits of studies in France and the asset of speaking French in professional life.
