Inauguration of
France Alumni Nigéria
On November 23, 2016, in Lagos, the French embassy in Nigeria and Campus France have launched the France Alumni Nigeria platform in collaboration with the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce.
The programme seeks to create bonds between students, companies and higher education institutions in order to promote the French experience of Nigerian students.
Laurent Polonceaux, General Consulate of France in Lagos, reminded the importance of this tool by inviting "entrepreneurs and students, young professionals and seasoned executives to exchange, to publish online profiles, job descriptions, offers and professional applications".
Mohammed Garba, member of the Chamber of Representatives, president of the group for friendship between French and Nigerian parliament member, Knight of the Order of Academic Palms, stressed the importance of "bringing value to the bond developed between the two countries to the benefit of students", reminding among others that there is a scholarship grants programme implemented by the Embassy, Campus France and the State of Kano.
Two students then gave a speech to present their career and future projects.
A cocktail followed, allowing the guests to exchange before a fashion show presented by several students.
The event gathered about 200 people from the economic, student and institutional worlds. French companies such as Total, Bouygues Construction and Air France were represented, just as Nigerian companies, in order to identify new talents among the students present.
The website is now available online: France Alumni
