Saturday, January 19th, don't miss the French film "Un peuple et son roi" with English subtitles at Cinéma Odyssée in Strasbourg.The event is co-organized by the Campus France Regional Office in Starsbourg. We will meet you at the Odyssée’s salons (1rst floor) from 2:50 pm to share a “galette des rois” before the beginning of the screening of the film at 3:50 pm. The screening will take place in the Odyssée’s amazing Edouard Szulc Great Room, one of the oldest still active cinema rooms in the world.

SYNOPSIS

 In 1789, a people is entered into revolution. Their voices were heard. ONE NATION, ONE KING envisions the crossing destinies of men, women, and prominent historical figures alike. We watch as lives and ideologies go head to head within a young National Assembly. At the heart of this historical chapter, we find the fate of the King and the emergence of the Republic. “One nation, one king” is a fierce cinematic reimaging of the famous French revolution, both epic and intimate at once. The dedicated production team fought to film in France, and even constructed a recreation of Salle du Manège!
