Overview
Founded in 1941, the National School of Geographic Sciences (ENSG - Geomatics) trains future professionals of Geographic Information Technologies. These technologies, also known as Geomatics, allow to construct digital representations of the territory and to carry out scientific analyses in many fields: environment, energy, defense, development and sustainable management of territories...
The education includes the tools and techniques used for gathering, storing and processing spatially referenced data, their integration into information systems, their exploitation and their dissemination for decision-making purposes. It includes as well internships in France and abroad, and an intensive practical training in the South of France.
ENSG - Geomatics is part of the French National Geographical Institute (IGN), a public institution under the joint supervision of the Minister of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and the Minister of Agriculture, Agribusiness and Forest.
