The Institut International de l'Image et du Son (3iS, international institute of image and sound) is the largest audiovisual education institution in France and Europe, with 12,000m²  of facilities, high-performance equipment and a placement rate of 80-–90% depending on specialization.

In 4 broad areas (film and audiovisual, digital arts, journalism, and technical theatre arts) covering 20 different occupational specialties, 3iS graduates are trained to assume operational responsibilities.

3iS teaching methods combine culture and technique, knowledge and practice, multi-discipline and specialization.
3iS' Degree programs require 3 years of study, in addition to an optional year-long introductory program offered in-house to prepare students for the programs in film/audiovisual and digital arts.
Students are admitted to the first year by entrance examination. Applicants must hold at least a French baccalauréat or equivalent secondary-school credential.

The first part of all four degree programs consists of a comprehensive core curriculum. Students then choose a professional specialty.
Instruction centers on professional practices and mastery of real-world challenges, taught through repeated exposure to professional situations (workshops, productions, intensive internships).

3iS also offers summer programs taught in English.
