Founded in 1919, the Ecole des Mines de Nancy is a science-based “Grande Ecole” constently rated among the french's top 15 “Grandes Ecoles” and has always been noted for its close links with the industrial world. The school has an excellent academic reputation with a large number of visiting professors and international students.

It offers all the advantages of a wide academic range and highly-qualified staff. The Ecole des Mines provides a rich and diverse academic (scientific oriented) environment with creative links between students, teachers and researchers.

Around 700 students study at the Ecole des Mines de Nancy. The school aims at training engineers to be capable of innovating and leading change but also tries to face challenges such as equal opportunity, social openness and sustainable development. As a complement to its general “Ingénieur Civil des Mines” program, the school created a second program: industrial engineering and material. The graduate students hold positions of responsibility all over the world and are sought-after by the most prestigious companies.
