The Lycée Français International de Delhi is a French international school that has been in operation since 1960.

Starting from the academic year 2024, the Lycée Français International de Delhi (LFID) is proud to announce the introduction of the International French Baccalaureate (BFI). Eleventh-grade students now have the option to enrol in an additional course, the "International Section," to qualify as BFI graduates.

The Lycée Français International de Delhi is a French international school that has been in operation since 1960. It serves students aged 2 to 18 and is located on French Embassy grounds, in close proximity to the French Institute in India and Khan Market.

The introduction of the International French Baccalaureate aims to enrich students’ educational experience and provide worldwide recognition of their academic achievements by universities and colleges. Bilateral agreements have been established between the French education authorities and the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), resulting in the French International Baccalaureate.

Association des Sections Internationales Britanniques et Anglophones (ASIBA) and the French education authorities provide a worldwide recognition of the BFI. For example, students graduating with the BFI will receive the same recognition as A-level students when applying to university.

Students who opt for this track in 2024 will prepare for the International French Baccalaureate examination, which will be held for the first time at LFID in 2026.

Key Principles of the BFI at LFID School

Continuity: The BFI extends the scope of the existing international section from first to tenth grade and continues as the BFI in Grades 11th and 12th.

High Profile: The BFI adds significant value to the French Baccalaureate, boosting its global profile and appeal. This additional programme attracts the best students who thrive in its challenging curriculum and are passionate about learning, preparing them for success in a globalised world.

Flexibility: The BFI is a flexible programme designed for all students coming from international schools. Students are taught three subjects in English in addition to the core subjects: an English Language and Literature course, a History and Geography course, and a World Knowledge course. This programme offers innovative, multicultural learning opportunities that enrich students’ educational experience. BFI students at LFID can pursue a bilingual course of study, including an additional Modern Foreign Language as part of the programme.

Critical thinking: The BFI reinforces the development of critical thinking, humanist values, and a methodical approach through the "World Knowledge" course taught in English.
