Young scientific talents week: Science and Sport - December 2023
Call for applications
In view of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris from 26 July to 8 September 2024, Universcience will explore the relationship between science, sport and e-sport, fields driven by innovation and fundamentally linked on a medical, biomechanical, psychological, historical, sociological or cultural levels whether it is the accomplishments and records of champions, as well as amateur sports practice.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
From 3rd to 10th December, 2023, Universcience aims to bring together young scientific talents from around the world who are active in the dissemination and communication of scientific knowledge related to sport or e-sport.
The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie will host the young scientific talents who are dedicated to promoting scientific knowledge related to sport (nature, human and social sciences, including e-sport) in their home countries over the week. They will get the opportunity to visit cultural institutions, research organisations, sports facilities, etc., participate in scientific mediation workshops in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games, and contribute to the elaboration of the scientific news exhibition on sports. They will also discuss the issues of innovation, inclusivity, critical thinking, and sustainable development, which are central to the Universcience institutional project
WHO CAN APPLY ?
Priority will be given to researchers, academics or teachers, bloggers, science journalists, engineers, digital professionals, museologists
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicant must
be an Indian national, currently residing in India
be between the ages of 18 and 39
have scientific understanding in English and French (preferred but not mandatory)
have proven experience in a scientific field related to the theme of sport
demonstrate skills in communicating and popularizing complex subjects
BENEFITS
Selected candidates will receive per-diem (7 days), round-trip airfare, accommodation, meals and airport transfers.
