Filipino alumni of French schools and higher learning institutions came together at the Enderun colleges last September 3, 2015 during the annual Soirée Alumni to celebrate the friendship between France and the Philippines, particularly in the academic field.

Every year, the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Campus France Philippines organize the Soirée Alumni to bring together Filipinos who have taken their studies in France to reconnect with their peers, share memories about their stay in France, explore the development of their careers, interact with representatives from academic institutions and the private sector, and most especially, highlight the skills and qualities that they have gained through their education in France.

It was during the evening that France Alumni Philippines, the local version of the digital, multilingual platform that unites, informs, and orients Filipinos who have taken their studies in France, as well as academic, institutional, and private partners who wish to communicate with the alumni community, was officially launched. This online network also allows institutional partners, universities, and companies to communicate with this alumni community.

In his speech, Mr. Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr. shared his admiration of the grandmasters of French architecture which Ms. Kaye Torres, alumnus of the Centre de Formation d’Alain Ducasse at Argenteuil, expressed her love for French gastronomy which was “perfection on a plate.”

Attendees were also treated to a series of raffle prizes generously given by the event’s sponsors. Tiffany Kang, an alumnus of Ateneo de Manila University and ISEN Lille, was the lucky winner of the grand prize – an all-expenses paid cultural trip to France!

The evening ended with a speech from Deputy Head of Mission Laurent Legodec, who reminded the Filipino alumni that they, after having studied in France, are the “ambassadors of goodwill” that strengthen the friendship between France and the Philippines.

Soirée Alumni 2015 was made possible through the support of Lancôme, Vietura, Intercontinental Manila, Holiday Inn and Suites Makati, Eric Kayser, and the Alliance Française de Manille.
