In 1974, the Alliance Française Abu Dhabi was founded by H.E. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, the first UAE Foreign Minister, prominent adviser to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Personal Representative to H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

It was established under the leadership of H.E. Mr Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, and others leaders of the emirates society.

A vision: the will to empower the Franco-Arab brotherhood and blend both cultures through the development of a center that shares the French language, traditions and arts.

Awarded in 2016 with the « Vermeil » prize of Académie Française -  the most prestigious institution in the world for the French language and culture.

All year long, Alliance Française Abu Dhabi provides : 

- French classes for all levels : adults, teenagers and children

- Cultural activities and events promoting French language and culture, Francophonie and local cultures

- Members can access a library containing more than 15 000 books, 1 500 CDs and DVDs, and updated monthly with novelties!
