Overview
Total is a major energy player that produces and markets fuels, natural gas and low-carbon electricity. It has interests in several joint ventures, plus operational presence through its affiliates Total Abu Al Bukhoosh, Total Solar Middle East, Total Marketing Middle East blending plant, Total E&P UAE Unconventional Gas B.V. and via its trading branch TOTSA. Total is one of the few international oil & gas companies, in partnership with the majority of Abu Dhabi’s oil and gas operating companies and other energy companies.
Since 1939, Total’s activities have evolved over time to include upstream oil and gas, LNG, co-generation and solar power plus lubricants. The resulting partnerships include technical assistance, knowledge transfer and human capacity building, including the secondment of experienced Total personnel. In the upstream sector, through ongoing investments in technology and by the application of its regional and worldwide expertise, the Group has been applying the latest technology and innovation to enhance production while maintaining emphasis on safety and environment.
Beyond its industrial activities and championing civic responsibility for future generations as a responsible energy major, through Total Foundation, Total carry out important citizenship initiatives related to Road Safety, Environment and Climate, Youth Inclusion and Education and Cultural Dialogue and Heritage in the UAE.

•Total in the UAE is reinforcing its long-term responsible involvement toward social and societal, especially in term of “Youth inclusion & Education”.

Our educational programs
Our educational programs have been created by Total in the UAE and are conducted regionally in order to further support young people, because we believe they should be given the tools to empower them to reach their potential and build a better future.
The Total Quai d’Orsay scholarships program :
To further support UAE youth who choose to pursue it academic studies in France, Total in the UAE is offering scholarship opportunities in a yearly basis. Since 2004, Total International Scholarship Program allows 120 students worldwide/year to prepare French diploma. In 2018, this initiative was reinforced by collaborating with Campus France.

In 2020, Total and Campus France are proud to support a full scholarships to two UAE nationals who got accepted in two French high-level universities : Noor FIKREE will join a Polytechnique Master MSc program (and Mohamed AL HASHMI, Total scholar, will join an HEC International MBA program.

Total Professeurs Associés :
TPA operates as a non-profit organization; it aims to build bridges between the oil industry and major universities and engineering schools by delegating professors or experts who deliver technical or business-related presentation. The professors teach on a voluntary basis, they lecture in their field of expertise covering all the technical and non-technical areas that a large international group can encompass. This initiative is offered by Total in the UAE to our partner universities in the country: United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Khalifa University (KU), Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD), Zayed University (ZU), the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and Sharjah University. Since its inception more that 80 professors conducted their courses across the UAE with attendance of more than 3,200 students.
Total – IFP Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
Total has collaborated with IFP School (the french petrol institute) to develop MOOC. The objective is to provide an understanding of the oil & gas industry for students. Three editions have already been organised from 2015 to 2020. Thanks to it, more than 65,000 participants from 150 countries learned about the “Oil & Gas chain: from exploration to production”.
Our internships opportunities
Every year, Total hires 3,500 interns worldwide including opportunities for people of determination. Since 2019, Total in the UAE hired 55 interns working in 20 different departments (Finance, HSE, Solar, Legal, Communication...).
Interns at Total in the UAE get a great insight into different parts of the business. Our internship opportunities are designed to educate, mentor and motivate talented young people.
