THE MAKING SUSTAINABLE CITIES FORUM AND CONFERENCE "La Fabrique de La Ville Durable"

This year, just a few months away from the UNFCCC’s COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, the Making Sustainable Cities event is putting the spotlight on organizations and youth that are offering solutions for sustainability and trying to save our cities from the ever-growing environmental degradation.

This Friday, March 25th, H.E. Marc Baréty, the Ambassador of France in Egypt Ambassade de France en Égypte, is launching the event, followed by Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of the Environment وزارة البيئة - Ministry of Environment, who will open the discussion moderated by Abdelrahman Fahmy (Founder of Youthinkgreen EG), and consisting of the following panelists:

• H.E. Mohamed Nasr, Director of Environmental and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

• Rania Hedeya, Country Program Director, UN-Habitat

• H.E. Mahmoud Mohiy El-Din, IMF, UNFCCC’s COP27 Champion.

• Prof. Heba Khalil, Professor of Sustainable Urbanism, Cairo University.

With a special feature of Ahmed El Ghandour “Da7ee7 - الدحيح”, who will be giving one of his famous presentations live!

1) March 25th, 26th & 27th: The Forum of Sustainable Initiatives: 22 initiatives for 2022:

During the three days, 22 Egyptian and international initiatives will be in the French Institute of Egypt to showcase their work and offer networking & collaboration opportunities to the public.

2) March 26th and 27th: An International Conference: “Facing climate change, making the city sustainable”:

This two-day conference will gather over forty environmental activists from Egypt, France, and all over the globe. 7 panels will bring together scientists, experts, and observers who will lay the groundwork for the reversal of the environmental degrading habits in the cities and urban areas.

Du 25 au 27 mars 2022, l’Institut français d’Egypte, le CEDEJ et la FES s’allient pour organiser la cinquième édition de La Fabrique de la ville durable.

Cette année et à quelques mois de la COP27 à Charm el-Cheikh, La Fabrique prendra une forme nouvelle en donnant une place centrale aux associations et aux jeunes engagées pour l’environnement. Le vendredi 25 mars 2022, S.E. Marc Baréty, l’Ambassadeur de France en Egypte, lancera l’événement suivi de Dr. Yasmine Fouad, ministre de l’Environnement qui ouvrira la table ronde modérée par Abdelrahman Fahmy (Fondateur de YOU THINK GREEN) et à laquelle participera :

• S.E. Mahmoud Mohiy El-din, FMI, Champion pour la COP27

• Mme. Rania Hedeya, Directrice exécutive d’ONU-Habitat Egypte

• S.E. Mohamed Nasr, Directeur de l’environnement et du développement durable, ministère des Affaires Etrangères

• Prof. Dr. Heba Khalil, Professeure d’urbanisme durable, Université du Caire

El-Da7ee7 sera l’invité d’honneur de ce grand événement.

1) Les 25, 26, 27 mars 2022 : Un forum des initiatives durables : 22 initiatives pour 2022

Durant ces trois jours, 22 initiatives égyptiennes et régionales seront rassemblées à l’Institut français d’Égypte pour présenter leurs travaux et réalisations.

2) Les 26 et 27 mars : Une conférence internationale : « Répondre aux risques socio-climatiques en ville »

Ce colloque qui rassemblera une quarantaine des principaux acteurs de l’environnement de l’Egypte, la France et du monde entier, mettra en dialogue des scientifiques mais aussi des experts et observateurs pour identifier des premières pistes permettant d’inverser ces tendances dans les villes et milieux urbains.
