Immerse yourself in the rich créole urban pop through the performance of the great singer Maya Kamaty!

Maya Kamaty, a prominent Maloya musician and singer of Indian origin from Reunion Island, the French overseas territory, brings a taste of Reunion Island’s rich music tradition to India. She is also known as the daughter of Gilbert Pounia, the lead singer of Ziskakan, one of the most famous Maloya bands from Réunion Island. Very early, and thanks to her father, she has developed a deep interest and relationship to India where she was last touring in 2018. For her return, she will be performing this time her new EP “Sovaz”, the Creole word for “wild”, where she experiments urban pop music in a freestyle approach. With her mesmerizing vocals and deep-rooted connection to Maloya, a music genre usually sung in Creole, she offers a unique blend of traditional and contemporary music. Her music is a reflection of her diverse influences, from traditional Maloya to slam, rock, reggae, jazz, and dance, along with island blues melodies, and Afro-beats.
