Wanted by the Paris Peace Forum: "A Functioning Global Order"

Vue 2 fois

The seventh Paris Peace Forum will be held from 11 to 12 November 2024. It will address the urgent need for effective international governance in a world marked by rivalries between great powers, global instability, mistrust between North and South, and new transnational challenges.

This seventh edition will highlight the concept of polylateralism. The notion behind polylateralism is to mobilize a variety of actors to create tangible solutions for global public goods such as cyber security, food security and the regulation of artificial intelligence. The Forum offers a unique framework through the emergence of agreements and partnerships designed to generate measurable change.

It will focus on the international governance of global public goods: agriculture, transitional minerals, the equitable sharing of benefits in terms of public health, cyber security, artificial intelligence and other key issues requiring better coordination between the global North and South and East and West, which can lay the groundwork for a lasting peace through dialogue.

The Paris Peace Forum stands out for its innovative structure. It is founded on three pillars: an event to identify unaddressed governance needs; a “Do Tank” which makes the solutions discussed become reality; and a platform of local, high-impact projects. This approach has already resulted in major outcomes, such as the Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace and the Net Zero Space initiative.

Since its creation in 2018, the Paris Peace Forum has become an unmissable event for global diplomacy. With more than 45,000 participants, 516 projects presented and almost 150 Heads of State, it has shown that dialogue and action can work together to answer the major global challenges. The Forum is based on a clear vision: strengthen global governance together with multilateralism, by bringing together governments, businesses and civil society.
