From 22 May to 9 June, in partnership with Alliances Françaises, Campus France, Institut Français branches and TV5 Monde, a song contest, #ChanteEnFrançais (#SingInFrench) has launched on Instagram as part of the festival. Five laureates will win their spot in an artist residency in France and Belgium from 16 to 21 July 2024.
All people aged 18-year old onwards from all over the world are invited to spotlight their creativity in French using the hashtags #ChanteEnFrançais, #SingInFrench, #CantaEnFrancés or #غن_بالفرنسية .
The conclusion of the festival will grant five young talents a spot in an artist residency at the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française at the Château de Villers-Cotterêts. Then, they will be invited to perform on stage at the Francofolies de Spa festival in Belgium from 16 to 21 July 2024.
Winners will receive exceptional prizes, including:
- Watch the Olympic Torch Relay pass through Villers-Cotterêts on 17 July,
- Record a track in the studio at the Château,
- Perform on stage at the Francofolies de Spa festival to put on a special concert for French-language music fans.
The #SingInFrench contest represents everything we want to promote in 2024: a Francophonie driven by young people, who must make their own personal use of the French language to bring it to life through art, to make it beautiful and accessible to all. This year will obviously be under the sign of Francophonie since it’s the 19th Francophonie Summit on 4 and 5 October, but it is also these initiatives that will make 2024, event after event, a year of Francophone success.
