The Embassy of France in India and the French Institute in India hosted the HEC Paris New Delhi Chapter Alumni for a reunion of the business school alumni at the Residence of France in India.

Mr. Sumeet Anand, who has been serving as the President for the community for the last 15 years, is now stepping down from the position, having created three local chapters – in Bangalore, New Delhi and Mumbai. He has led the transition of the group from 1 single India group to the creation of 3 chapters – Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore – 6 years ago. He had a dual role as India President and Delhi Chapter President.

This is an occasion to mark a vital transition in the HEC Alumni Community from a central leadership to several local chapters, as is the norm across all countries and their HEC Alumni communities.

HEC Alumni in India is now a steadily growing, 200+ strong group with 3 chapters:

  • New Delhi, with 75+ alumni
  • Mumbai, 50+ and
  • Bangalore, 50+

They also have alumni based across further cities such as Hyderabad, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai, Kolkata amongst others. The new leadership will be based in three chapters in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, effective from 2019. The new leadership in Delhi comprises of:

  • Ashish Manchanda, MBA 2010, as President
  • Tahseen Beg, MBA 2012, Vice-President
  • Avishek Sarkar, MBA 2011, Vice-President
  • And others who will join the Chapter Team

Ashish, Tahseen and Avhisek have shown strong commitment to the community by participating actively and supporting many alumni initiatives in India over the years. They led the organisation of the successful and recently held 3rd HEC Alumni Business Meet at the French Embassy.

HEC Paris' relationship with India is stronger than ever. Indian students represent the third largest nationality on campus, with almost 150 students currently studying at HEC Paris.

Constant efforts to build strong bilateral relationships with leading academic institutions around the world have allowed HEC to build great partnerships with some of the most renowned Indian schools. It has five partnerships with three IIMs - Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta as well as Ashoka University and Indian School of Business (Hyderabad).
