A look back on France Alumni China's Jobs Forum
The 8th edition of the "Forum Emploi" (Jobs Forum) from France Alumni China was held from July 7, 2018 in Canton, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang and Wuhan. The fair was dedicated to Chinese graduates of the French higher education system and open to French citizens living in China, and gathered 132 companies and over 1,500 candidates.
On June 24, 2018, during French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe's official tour in China, Chinese alumni graduated from the French higher education celebrated the ten years of the Club France network and joined the global network France Alumni. 15 days later, the Forum Emploi by France Alumni China was held simultaneously in 6 cities, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and French Industry in China and the recruitment website Zhaopin.com.
In a competitive and exclusive labour market, France Alumni's Forum Emploi wants to answer the growing need of companies in highly-qualified French-speaking profiles trained in France. Demand is fuelled among others by the vitality of trade between France and China. The visit by Philippe and French companies CEOs is a strong sign of the vitality of the strategic and economic partnership between the two countries and translates among others by involvements in the digital industry.
Emerging markets from other French-speaking countries, including in Africa, boosted by the "Une Ceinture une Route" policy (One Belt, One Road) continue to contribute to the attractiveness of graduate candidates in France.
As to Chinese alumni, who for the most part young graduates who just came back to their country, they strongly look for contacts with employers looking for high level executives. Forum Emploi helps them meet over 100 multinationals every year.
In just a few years, France Alumni China's Forum Emploi became one of the most popular recruitment fairs for major French companies operating in China, such as Hermès, Airbus, Safran, Décathlon and Alstom.
