Sneha Ragavan at AWARE's NEST Gathering
Strengthening Transregional Artistic and Feminist Connections
We are delighted to highlight and to support the participation of Sneha Ragavan, a New Delhi-based curator, Senior researcher and Projects lead for Asia Art Archive in India, in AWARE’s NEST convening in Paris held on November 6 and 7, 2024.
About NEST: Network for Empowerment, Solidarity, and Transregionality
NEST, one of AWARE’s (Archives of Women Artists, Research & Exhibitions) three international networks, is designed to foster mutual support, exchanges, and learning among organizations and collectives engaged in feminist research and art. This network unites independent entities from various countries working at the intersection of visual art, activism, and gender studies, with the aim of amplifying collective work as a feminist strategy and providing visibility to women and non-binary artists.
On the occasion of its 10th anniversary, AWARE organized a two-day gathering for NEST network members. Held on November 6 and 7, 2024, in Paris, the event included a professional meeting at Villa Vassilieff and a public convening at the Palais de Tokyo. Titled Une Histoire nommée Joie, the gathering showcased feminist art practices and hosted discussions on the importance of collective work. Participants shared their experiences and practices with the Parisian public, emphasizing intercultural collaboration and innovative methodologies to support women and non-binary artists.
This event was supported by @terraamericanart.
