over 200 European languages
24 official EU languages
about 60 regional/minority languages
and many more spoken by people from other parts of the world
The aim of this day is to promote learning new languages, the knowledge of different languages allowing to create connections, gives you an easier access to work and favors the grow of enterprises.
The European day of languages was instituted by the European Commission and the European Council, representing 800 millions of Europeans living in 47 countries.
A wide number of events across Europe celebrate this date.
This is as well the occasion to highlight how French language can be useful for you! French language will provide you many opportunities, more than useful in France; French is spoken by more than 274 million people being the 5th language the most spoken in the world.
