Join Dr. Sangeeta Sahi and the Unified Human Foundation in uniting humanity with nature through innovative projects in clean technology, health, and cultural regeneration.

1/4 Who

Sangeeta grew up in London and comes from four generations of Medical Doctors. From her student days in medical school, she was very interested in the origins of diseases, beyond symptomatic relief. This motivated her to work with quantum physicists in the US, and biophysicists in the UK and study disease and wellness at the quantum level. Besides her formal medical training,  Sangeeta went on to study  Epigenetics, Nutrigenomics, PsychoNeuroEndocrinoImmunology, Ayurveda and Plant-based medicines and many more disciplines including a Business degree at ESSEC in Cergy, Paris. She worked as an academic, teaching, consulting and practising Integrative Medicine from a multidimensional and holistic perspective, whilst working and living all over the world. Throughout her professional life, she has worked with many NGOs and Non-Profits in USA, Africa and India. This work and hands-on experience led her to create Unified Human Foundation in 2020.

2/4 What - A holistic charity curating and supporting projects that unify human beings with Nature

Unified Human Foundation is a charity established in the UK, the USA, India and Australia. In India, it is called Unified Prakriti Foundation. “Prakriti” in Sanskrit means Nature. They curate and support projects along with other charities which unify human beings with Nature. The aim is to offer creative resources to projects, including education, networking and visibility, as well as financial support. This combination of support leads to incremental, cumulative and unitive positive change.

Unified Human Foundation operates in three key areas:

·       Clean technologies. Technologies for clean air, clean water, waste management and recycling and aquaculture.

·       Health. Focussing on nature-based health solutions, lifestyle, culture and nutrition. They are passionate about food security and food enhancement.

·       Community and cultural regeneration through education about Nature and its cultural connections with Indigenous and Ancient Knowledge systems.

Unified Human has been integrally designed to mimic Nature’s interconnectedness and collaborative essence. “We wanted holism to be represented in the foundational design of Unified Human Foundation, and also in how we carry out the work. We want to strengthen the community's connection with Nature and with each other through projects which allow us to experience how close and deeply connected we are with Her” says Sangeeta. Being holistic, being life-centred, is for her the only way to have an impact and experience wholeness within ourselves and with our communities. “Today, it's imperative to look at everything that we do through that lens of life-centeredness. Life is multi-dimensional and I think that our institutions, organisations and foundations have to reflect that multi-dimensionality in a unitive approach.

Therefore, one of Unified Human’s  key KPIs is about creating and nurturing correct partnerships. “Through our collaborations, we are creating a new way of being and of living, which is really supporting each other, really unitive and nurturing”. They partner with, both, the organisations they support and also with other like-minded groups to exchange ideas and create a greater cumulative impact.

An example of a project supported by Unified Human is WILDCOAST, based in San Diego, California. Through its One Million Mangrove Mission, it is restoring and conserving the marine life in Baja, Mexico’s Pacific coast. This project is about marine environment regeneration. It is indigenous-led and Unified Human  is supporting them in their mission to improve coastal resilience. To date, they have planted 120,000 seedlings across 250 acres of Mexico’s Pacific shoreline.

3/4 Her guide to getting involved with charities

If you would like to start volunteering but are unsure where best to invest your time, here are Sangeeta’s recommendations for finding a project which is right for you and your level of involvement.

1.     Sangeeta’s suggests to first ask yourself “What do you feel strongly about?" “If you're really interested in a cause you're not going to feel like it's an effort. And charity work, in my opinion, should not be effortful, it should be fulfilling. It should give you joy.” “The key question is, what is your passion?”

2.     Step two is looking at that topic or sector you feel passionate about, list the charities working in that sector and start talking to them. “At Unified Human Foundation we encourage our community to contact us, to have conversations with us and engage with what we're doing”. You won’t find out enough about a charity, and if it’s right for you, by reading a website or by looking at their financials. Get going and engage with the actual teams working on the causes dear to you. Check if you like the energy. Voluntary work should make you feel light. “And if, when you engage with a particular charity or foundation, it gives you that feeling of lightness, believe me, they’ll be a good fit for you.”

4/4 UHF needs you!

If you are passionate about Nature, Sangeeta would love to hear from you – especially if you are from the business or the finance sector. She needs you to join the Unified Human Foundation team as trustees, as Ambassadors, as Project Leaders or as volunteers to help with project design or the actual project rollouts. Your background in business or finance will help Unified Human Foundation build relationships for active participation with the corporate sector and secure future partnerships with key sectors in cleantech, healthcare and community.
