IFALE: International Aspiring Leaders - Business of the Month
Newsletter "Le Pari" n°3 (Fev 2025)
Established in June 2021 by Emilia Tambwe, a French native in London, International Aspiring Leaders (IFALE) is a non-profit organisation campaigning for the inclusion of international students and refugees in the UK, both in higher education and the workplace.

While the United Kingdom receives a high proportion of international students, very few find work experience post-graduation. To assist job seekers, IFALE created the 'International Mentoring Scheme', where mentees are paired with professionals and students from their native country currently in the United Kingdom. Since the inception of this scheme, many job seekers have secured roles. A notable example is Eloine Guilain, a student at Queen Mary University of London, who secured a legal placement at Chanel's London office.
IFALE's Services
Additionally, IFALE provides monthly free in-person and virtual networking events, seminars and workshops, and coaching as part of its mission. The aim is to connect international students with industry professionals, supporting the integration of diverse backgrounds and talents into global workplaces.
IFALE's Objectives
IFALE seeks to promote:
- Accessibility, by acting as a bridge for new career opportunities abroad
- Diversity, by advocating to employers on greater inclusion of international students
- Innovation, by contributing to the development of innovative inclusion methods
- Motivation, by supporting students to build confidence and ambition
Benefits of Diversity
Their mission benefits students and employers. Welcoming internationals into the workforce awards companies a unique competitive edge, fostering problem-solving skills, cultural awareness, and fresh perspectives that meet global market demands. While diversity can be attributed to reputation, and it's advantageous on that front, it also allows companies to enhance their adaptability and vision in this rapidly evolving economy.
Future Plans and Success Story
IFALE hopes to double its efforts in expanding cooperation with organisations that seek to support the acquisition of international talent. For example, international students such as William Master, managed to set up his own business Green Mango FZC LLC whilst studying at the University of Exeter
