Screening of the French comedy "Adieu les cons", followed by a talk on work-life balance from a Franco-Norwegian perspective

We invite you to discover the French comedy Adieu les cons (87 min), directed by Albert Dupontel and which won seven César awards in 2021.

Synopsis: “When Suze Trappet learns at the age of 43 that she is seriously ill, she decides to go in search of the child she was forced to abandon when she was 15. Her administrative research brings her to cross path with JB, a fifty-year-old burnt-out man, and M. Blin, a blind archivist of impressive enthusiasm. The three of them embark on a quest, as spectacular that improbable”.

The screening will be followed by an open discussion with two researchers from the Faculty of psychology of UiO (Universitet i Oslo): Pr. Cato Alexander Bjorkli and Marius Hafstad.

 

The movie-talk evening will end with a French buffet!

Cato Alexander Bjorkli
Associate Professor in Work and Organisational Psychology
Universitet i Oslo

With an academic background in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Human Technology Organisation from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Pr. Bjorkli has developed a diverse research profile. His work spans from Human Factors & Ergonomics to Organisational Change, but it is particularly focused on the adoption and integration of AI in knowledge-intensive organisations. Pr. Bjorkli’s practical contributions at the University of Oslo are also notable. He serves on the board of the Center for Teaching Excellence INTED, leads efforts in the Privacy Preserving Transactive Energy Management (PriTEM) project, and coordinates the Human-Technology-Organisation course at the Master’s level as well as the Honours Program at the Bachelor level. In addition to mentoring several PhD candidates, his rich experience and insights guide future scholars in navigating the evolving landscape of technology and organisational structures in the dawning age of AI.

PhD Candidate in Psychology

His research interests revolve around the intricate relationship between our professional lives and well-being. More specifically, he focuses on how companies and organizations can influence employee’s well-being through various factors, including the practices, policies, and procedures for job resources and demands. Beyond scholarly pursuits, he is dedicated to bridging the gap between academia and “real-world” challenges by writing about the practical implications of his and others research through his blog and other media outlets.
