1. General:

Title: Senior Estimator
Report to: Tendering Manager

2. Position Summary:

This position requires a highly professional and organized individual who can work in a fast paced construction business environment. Candidate is competent in performing all aspects of cost estimating work in roadworks, bridge construction, underground utility, tunnel works, concrete and other construction disciplines, and does not require direct supervision.

3. Job Responsibility and roles:

• Provide preconstruction services including the preparation of preliminary budgets, cost plans, and value engineering opportunities
• Develop strategies to create a competitive edge
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value
• Coordinate preparation and perform of full detailed quantity takeoff estimates, identifying inherent risk and opportunities.
• Skills include the ability to read, interpret and comprehend engineering specifications, process design drawings and contracts. Activities will include reviewing and analyzing complex bills of materials, assessing labor productivity and labor costs, researching vendor, manufacturing and construction costs.
• Assist in project planning and scheduling
• Maintain an accurate, current database cost codes of accounts for historical data

4. Position Requirements:

• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or other equivalent construction program
• At least 7 years related estimation experience on Road works, Bridges, Tunnel and Infrastructure works,etc
• At least 2 year site experience
• Strong attention to details
• Strong Analytic skills
• Time Management – multi-tendering, budgeting etc
• Precision and accuracy in calculations and documentation
• Proficient computer use – Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project,
• Fluent speaking and writing in French
• Fluent in English or Polish.

We offer:

As a Senior Estimator, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your construction cost estimating techniques and knowledge in quantity takeoffs, as you complete the entire bid from the beginning to the completion of the tender. You will work closely with the Tendering Manager in developing Construction Management, Design/Build and Tender. In addition, you will participate in the creation of proposals while continually developing effective relationships with designer, consultants, and sub-contractors.
